Rice A Roni

A work trip to San Francisco was a chance to take our first family vacation (not in Buffalo). We got there early Sunday and walked to the fisherman’s wharf. It would have been nice for the bellman to tell us it was all up and down huge hills. It was really nice that the conference was in the same hotel. After a fun but tiring first day I went to my conference while Dana and Logan played tourist. Dana took little man to the Golden Gate park and botanical gardens. We got invited to a Luxury box at AT&T Park which we couldn’t refuse. What a great way for Logan to see his first game. I think he saw some baseball. We celebrated our last night in San Fran at Scomas on the wharf. What a great place from a crab dinner. The last day we traveled to the Zoo which was Logan’s second zoo trip in just 2 weeks. This time he even stayed up for some of his say. After the zoo we walked the beach and had one last trip through the city where we grabbed a pretty good Italian dish. I’ve add a new photo album of our trip. Enjoy

Birthweek

Some people have birthdays, Dana has a birthweek! It was kicked off with a trip to LA. All be it still fun it was a whale-less whale watching tourer (Oh Whale). We later found a secret “Animal” restaurant in West Hollywood. A small place with no signage and an all black storefront. It was hard to find, even the cabbie didn’t know where it was. The food was Topas size dishes to share with an edgy gourmet focus and bacon chocolate for dessert. We walked the sunset strip stopping for drinks where ever it felt right. The next day was a trip to the farmers market, grove and dinner. D-Day had a great turnout of friends. We took the party all over town square. Starting at Lolitas moving on to Blue Martini, a stop in a pickle basket, then Brio and finally Yard House. Friday was recovery day. Happy Birthday/week Dana, love you.

Valentines 2011

The Cosmo is really the best hotel in town. In a place with over 100K rooms that is saying something.

Stealing My Own Bike

When your down to one car and it’s not home you can always ride your bike, right? Well after today I’m not so sure I would make that choice. I added air to my tires, filled up the water bottle and put on my headphones and started on my shopping spree. With all the stuff I was going to need I thought it best to add a bike bag which I could get at the local Walmart. So I locked my bike up and got what I needed and grabbed my bike. My next stop would be my favorite dollar store. Again I got what I needed and this time put my wares in my shiny new bag and grabbed my bike. However this time I couldn’t get my lock to open. 15 minutes before I successfully used it and I know I don’t forget things that fast. After sitting on the floor fighting the lock for an hour and being confronted by 99ยข security it was time to play hardball. I went back to Walmart (this time I walked :) ), bought some bolt cutters and had my way this this cheap ass lock. Now it was dark and I never made it to $1 Toco Tuesdays at Rubo’s or Best Buy.With shiny new cutters in hand I rode off into the distance like a day laborer after a hard days work.
